Every year Packt Publishing, a tech book publisher, runs a global award for the best open source CMS. In 2009, SilverStripe had its best result yet.
The Packt CMS Award is a major award: many thousands of people around the world rate their favourite CMS, before judges thoroughly evaluate the most popularly voted software. There is no more significant worldwide competition that rates open source or proprietary content management platforms, so we're very proud of our year-on-year progress:

Today the world's major open source CMS awards opened for 2009. Run by the UK publisher PacktPub, these annual awards provide a $24,000 prize pool and exposure to winning CMS projects. Winning helps to fund new features in our software, and helps us grow our developer and user community.

Win an Apple iPod Nano or Touch for helping outBy nominating or voting for your favourite CMS, you go into a draw to win Apple gear. Three people from the nomination phase will be drawn by PacktPub to win an 8GB iPod Nano, and three people from the voting phase will get an 8GB iPod Touch!

SilverStripe will be showcased in an upbeat annual CMS competition at next week's Janus Boye CMS Conference in Philadelphia!
The Web Idol competition is modelled after American Idol and is designed to be both entertaining and informative. It features quick-fire competitive performances and a panel of pithy judging. We get 6 minutes to have a heap of fun—and explain to a voting audience why SilverStripe deserves an outrageously large trophy. Stay tuned!
