WordPress ditching React over patent clause issue

Wasn't sure where to address this so I'll address it here. Read this recently:

Considering that the SilverStripe 4.0 CMS module is largely driven by React, I'm wondering how much of an issue this is. Will the patent clause put it at risk? If so, perhaps maybe the SilverStripe team should consider switching to Vue.js which, in my opinion, is likely to be a better library in the long run anyways.

Thoughts?

Thank you so much guys for reading this post. I have found a very simple solution to this. Add the following article code from Page.ss to SideBar.ss in the top area and place the aside unit size below the article code. Thats it! It works beautifully. Hope this helps!

How to use sub-menus on the content page.

I have a page with three lines of PAGE TEXT. I have now created three sub-menus under this page each having a few lines of text. Currently when I am clicking on the sub-menu my PAGE TEXT is disappearing. Is it possible to keep the main PAGE TEXT fixed, while showing different sub-menu items. Can someone please share the code and tell me where to place it. Thank you.

I would image your asking for like an affiliate program for SilverStripe, but i don't think they have one...

You're better off find a similar company that has an affiliate network, but that's sometimes harder said than done.

Generate docblocks for your dataobjects

Hi everyone,

I have recently written for myself the following simple tool:

You simply copy paste the variables of your dataobject, and it returns docblocks you can copy-paste on top of your class to make your IDE happy!

I'll publish the sources soon for anyone willing to use it locally.

Feel free to test with the following code

I am new to this software but we have lots of experience in other areas. We are seeking a simple solution to a directory we wish to implement alongsider our business. WP does not seem to have any good grid based plugins and we have arrived here after some searching.

The developer directory shown on this actual site is something we like the look of. It may need some tweaks, but I am unsure of whether this is a standard option?

Z-Ray is bundled with Zend Server. So to use it, yes, you'd need to install Zend Server which is a commercial product. There are however options to apply for a free license. If this interests you, Skype me at danielbe.zend

Main benefits are publicity and recognition as a plugin developer for Zend. And there's a contest to be announced soon with some cool prizes :-) But, like I said, can't offer money.
Z-Ray is basically a toolbar that displays a variety of information on the request, on all the different PHP elements constructing the page. Best way to describe Z-Ray is to show it in action, in this case on a WordPress app:

The right-most panel is an example of what a plugin looks like. It's a plugin we developed for WordPress devs and shows WordPress-specific info.
That's what a SilverStripe plugin would do - show devs SilverStripe info on the app they're developing...

I'm looking for an experienced SilverStripe developer who can fix a bug for a client. This bug fix will be paid, of course.

On the the site http://ontherun.de/products, the product sidebar on the left only appears in the draft site / staging view. However, in the live view, the sidebar is not visible (see attachments).

I've tried several things myself without or only with temporary luck. So – now I'm looking for somebody who can fix this thing for good. Please let me know if you're interested, I'll get in touch with you with details.
