Looking for a Reliable Payment Gateway for e-Commerce

Hello,

We're going to open e-commerce shops (drop shipping). We have a problem with finding a payment gateway that meets our needs. We really need your help.
Necessary conditions:
The payment gateway must serve Spain, Italy and the US and Russia altogether.
There should be reasonable fees (setup, monthly, transaction) or no monthly\setup fees.
It should support all popular payment systems.I even checked out Payment gateway video to know more betterly but wasn satisfied.

Looking forward to your advice! Any help will be appreciated.

Membership subscriptions

This is not an entirely new topic as I have seen threads that touch on this. However, I am not sure that a solution has been posted.
I run a SS site for an academic society, and we are looking at ways of implementing a membership and subscription system on our site. That is, we need to integrate a memberships system with a payment system. Neither currently exist on our site, so we can start from scratch. The payment options we are looking at are POLi pay, for NZ bank account holders, and PayPal for others.
Has anyone managed to find a solution to this (or similar)?

I managed to get this working. The issue seems to lie somewhere on my local wampserver. Once i migrated the website to a live hosting and tried the process it worked fine :)

Hi there,

I have integrated the frankmullenger/silverstripe-payment module into my swipestripe project.

When i go through the checkout process and click "Process to Pay" it is not redirecting me to the paypal website to submit payment, however, what is happening is that payment is failing and i am being redirected to the AccountOrder page, where it is asking me to pay

Anyone know what is causing this or a fix?

Oh, well in that case it depends entirely on the same things, but in reverse.
Beware anyone who seems to think it's reasonably trivial, unless they have the proof to back that up (other SS sites, other SS sites with payment gateways, other SS sites using Barclay's payment gateway).

Look at the payments module, and try to find an adaptor for the gateway you require. There are a few UK developers, so you might have some luck.
Otherwise you'll have to build one, and charge accordingly.

As for charge out rates, it depends on how much you charge, how competent with the system you are. In this case it seems like the latter is not so strong, so I would suggest perhaps not pursuing this.

The bigger issue if you are accepting credit card details on your website would be PCI compliance.

Silverstripe 2.4 E-commerce & Payment

I was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction to find a copy of Silverstripe Ecommerce for 2.4 and the Payment (PayPal) module that work nicely together.

All the payment modules that I have tried throw an error when I try to set:

PayPalPayment::setPayPalRealAccount('myaccount@wherever.com');
PayPalPayment::setPayPalTestAccount('mytestaccount@wherever.com');
PayPalPayment::setPayPalUseTestAccount(true);

They come back with a fatal error

Fatal error: Call to undefined method PayPalPayment::setPayPalRealAccount()

Any help would be great (would also be great if the e-commerce allowed product variations).

Thanks for this. I did try this earlier, but then it caused the entire site not to load (was giving Server 500 errors). As soon as I removed the declaration the site came back.

As far as I can tell from that screenshot, the $fields variable is not declared so PHP cannot append an array item to it.
Somewhere earlier in that method you should ensure there is a line like

$fields = array();

Hello all :)

I've recently inherited a website that we were told was complete, however it still has a few kinks that I'm trying to figure out (I'd never touched SilverStripe before this) but there's one that's completely stumped me with the payment gateway. After adding items to the cart and pressing "Place order and make payment", I get the following error:

I've tried following through the information provided in the Trace section, as well as various Google options, but not being familiar with SilverStripe I don't know if I'm following serious leads or dead ends, and so I'm hoping someone here could point me in the right direction :(

In my slowly increasing understanding, all SSL certificates are just as secure, or similarly secure, with the main difference being how many bits are used in the private/public keys.

A shared key should work fine, but I believe if the domain the key is registered for does not match your own domain, users will be presented with a message to say that the keys do not match, and you need to decide to trust the site or not. This is pretty much the same as a self-signed key, meaning you generate one yourself, and install that.

I believe the best option is to go for a cheap key (~$100USD/year), just to get rid of the warning message, and that should be enough to keep data secure. Where you start getting expensive, is when you get your certificates from big name authorities like VeriSign. I think you are just paying to be verified by them, and part of their 'network of trust'.

Anyone feel free to correct me if this isn't quite right.

Has anyone implemented PayPal IPN into the PayPalPayment or PayPalExpressCheckoutPayment classes?

There are several customised versions of the PayPal payment classes floating around. So, does anyone have a version with Instant Payment Notification (IPN) implemented? If so, it would be useful if this code could be merged with the official version. You can post your code or patch to the enhancement request. In fact, it might be worth collecting up the various versions, and pulling the best bits of all of them together.

Hi Josh, been away on holiday, but I hacked something together myself before I went. It's a bit of a hack, but when the next project comes along I want to do a proper paid membership module so I would love to see your code and use the best bits of it.

Finally, i gave up. Ended up paying for a developperto integrate his solutions into SS. Each his own expertise.

CSS styling in Payments module?

Hi. Having a few issues integrating this module with the overall look of my site. I found some classes and IDs I could hang my CSS styling on which created the right type styles for my page but I can't alter the layout. This means my page has a lot of unsightly gaps. Moreover the payment buttons are too wide for the enclosing DIV (class="object") and specifying a width in the style has no effect... nor can I make the buttons narrower to fit.... can anybody advise what is overriding my efforts? Starting to tear my hair out here (not that I have that much left...)

For NZ based, if you want multi currency support DPS is really the only way to go. Quite expensive at the onset but other ones like Paystation are designed more for local trading. Last I checked Paystation had some limitations that made it unfeasible to work in the US. Paypal (the non hosted one) is quite easy to setup and you don't need a merchant account for it. Otherwise for DPS/Paystation you'll also need a Merchant account through a bank.

I found early on, the best thing to do was to talk to your business banker about options for merchant accounts, they often deal with DPS or Paystation and can explain what the process you need to do is.

Hi there,

We've built our Ecommerce site, and now we need to implement a payment gateways. I'm just wondering what are the options are there for us? What are the good gateways to use? Both in New Zealand and world if possible.

Also I did this tutorial with Ecommerce, the tutor said Paypal is a payment processor rather than payment gateways, is this true? As my understanding gateways is better than processor. Anyone can give me a bit more detailed info would be appreciated. Any suggestions and advice for choosing gateways?

Heres what i have to do:

TWO DISTINCTS PAYMENT SITUATIONS USING PAYPAL

1) A member price subscription:
- where one company can send infos (to subscribing needed) to site owner for membership (100$ per membership)
- where one company can add any number of representants (4 members will output a 400$ bill + taxes)
- paypal payment gateway

2) An event participation payment solution:
- a member can get himself registered for a paid event
- if the event costs $30, a 30$ bill will be issued
- if a companby sends 2 members at the event, a 60$ bill will be issued

Help needed for a new member payment

Hi, already have a site running under SS 2.4.5. I want to do the following:

- users can add their membership via a page
- they should be able to pay the cost of membership (multiple options) via Paypal
- once registered, they are added to a WHO'S IN membership page

Which module(s) to use?

I am more than willing to pay for someoen to do it.

I found out the variables weren't getting outputted in the XML file, so I had to add the customerID variable at the top of the page, and then it worked.

Hi, All,

I'm new to commerce websites in general, but I'd like to set one up and could use a push in the right direction. I've never set up a commerce site and am wondering how to go about it using SilverStripe to do so.

As I understand, I would need a cart, and that cart would need to communicate with a gateway. I guess my questions are:

1. Do I start with the Payment module or the eCommerce module?

2. The modules section of this website is looking a bit sketchy these days, are those the current releases of those modules?

3. Is there any tutorials for a beginner like myself?

When the XML is created an passed via cURL, the response I get is:

This doesn't look right... does anyone know what this means or what should be returned?

eWay Payment Error

Hi,

I am trying to implement the eWay payment gateway into an ecommerce site but am running into a few errors. I'm running it in dev mode and test eWay mode.

The first is this:
[User Error] Uncaught Exception: Object->__call(): the method 'member' does not exist on 'EwayXMLPayment'

This is the code that is calling it:
$member = $this->Member();

If I comment it out, it will execute the code up until this line:
$ewayResponseFields = $eway->doPayment();

And then it doesn't return any error, just a blank page.

Has anyone got eWay working before? If so, can you please help me with this issue?

yeah currently they register on my site, then use a paypal button to subscribe.
the button grabs their username and passes it though to the payment process.

i'll have good look at the tutorials on relationships then. thanks again.

Umm yes and no. If you don't know how to setup a has_many-relationship then you really need to read the basic tutorials, they cover all of this. They're available here: http://doc.silverstripe.org/sapphire/en/. Pay special attention to chapter 5 about relationships. What you want to do is either add the paypal stuff directly to the member profile or add that as a has_one so that the paypal info gets connected to a member.

I really recommend that you let them register on your site first and then sending them to paypal so you know who they are when you get the IPN data from paypal.

well, currently paypal is just writing the data to a table called "payments" it adds the username, email address and payment status etc.
i need to find the best way to lookup the payment status when displaying the listings in the front end...

can you point me in the right direction or how to setup the has_many correctly?

What are you storing the data as? Are you storing it as a data object linked to a member profile? In that case just show that in the template. As for the listings just add them as a has_many-relationship to the member profiles if you haven't already.

to update, I have the paypal subscription working fine now. when a user pays, paypal send the IPN and it all writes to the database fine.
however, how do i query that database when listing the properties in the front end?
it needs to lookup the table, and check the payment status, if its failed then the product/property should be marked as offline and not be listed on the site, it its all paid OK then it should be marked as live and be online...

can anybody help with this part?

evening all,

im currently working on a "listing" style website.
users will be able to sign up and list their holiday homes/properties similar to what you see here: http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/brazil-north-east-2bed.htm

ideally, i plan to have users create a profile on my site, then subscribe with paypal to "publish" their listing.
so far I have installed the "memberprofiles" module which i THIK will work fine. I will just add lots more fields to the members page, and a has_many for all of the property images.

paypals subscription/recurring payments seems easy enough, i just need to tweak it all a little to get it working.

basically i wondered if anybody has any experience at all with this? will the memberprofiles module be suffice? what about if my users have more than 1 property? will they have to create a profile for each one? (thats not ideal!)

also, i was thinking of just listing the "profiles" in a loop on the front end to browse the property listings, and have the IPN write to the database with either a 0 or 1 for paid or unpaid, with an IF statement in the loop which queries the database, to ensure only paid listings are displayed.

i have NO experience at all with subscriptions, or the best way to deal with listings like this, is any of the above feasible or am i way off the mark here for how this should be done....
