E2 Digital becomes 10th NZ SilverStripe Professional Partner

SilverStripe welcomes our newest Professional Partner in New Zealand: E2 Digital. The Christchurch-based agency is a team of digital specialists who do much more than simply build websites by growing brands, inspiring businesses and creating meaningful online experiences.

For E2 Digital, their work is about “Digital Smarter” — constantly reimagining what’s possible, not just embracing change, but driving it. It’s a willingness to be guided by experience, but a refusal to be constrained by it as they search for dynamic ways to connect their client’s brands with their fans.

We sat down with Shannon Holmes, Development Manager, E2 Digital to learn more about how they work and why they use SilverStripe.

How did you discover SilverStripe?
Because we work with an array of clients across an equally broad assortment of sectors, it’s vital we have a complete range of resources at our disposal. That’s why we make it a priority to monitor, understand and utilise the latest technologies and platforms available to us.

We’d watched closely how SilverStripe had evolved over the years and, in early 2015, having reached a point with our existing development platform where transitioning to a new CMS was relatively straightforward, we decided to make a change. The fact that it forms the backbone of the CWP made SilverStripe the perfect fit.  

We acted as our own guinea pigs, building two new sites for the Harvey Cameron Group and using the experience to familiarise ourselves with SilverStripe. The build process was both intuitive and enjoyable, and the end result drew wide acclaim from clients and industry professionals alike.

How does your agency currently use SilverStripe?
We use SilverStripe as our primary CMS for everything from simple brochureware sites through to large corporate sites and custom development projects.

Why do you recommend clients use SilverStripe over other options?
SilverStripe is a robust and secure solution that has really gained momentum in the industry over the last couple of years.  We recommend it to our clients because it allows us to create the best experiences and deliver the best results for them in the digital space. We can also have multiple developers working at the same time, which is a huge advantage.

Biggest agency milestone in the past year?
E2 Digital is part of the Harvey Cameron Group. With nearly 60 experts sitting under the one roof and around the same table, we’re able to offer a seamless blend of digital, marketing and communications services to businesses of all shapes and sizes, throughout New Zealand and around the globe.

On the 1st of July 2016, our business turned 20 years old — an achievement we’re particularly proud of. In a world of constant change we’ve been able to stay ahead of the curve, not only embracing opportunities, but also regularly creating them. We were one of the first agencies in the country to offer a truly integrated digital solution, which in turn has helped our clients stay ahead of the curve too.

Why did you want to join the SilverStripe Partner programme?
As an experienced development shop, we felt we could contribute to the SilverStripe community, and the partner programme seemed like a great place to start. It was a logical step really — we’ve already produced some amazing work with SilverStripe, and working more closely with the SilverStripe team will only elevate that. Of course, the partnership also enhances client confidence.

What goals do you hope to achieve with E2 Digital and SilverStripe in the next year?
We really want to push the boundaries of what can be achieved with the SilverStripe CMS. Great work generates more work, and we want to be known as the best in the business when it comes to SilverStripe developers.

What would be your dream client to work with?
Any client, in any sphere, who has big goals and is looking for a business partner who can add real value. We love a challenge, and love working alongside passionate clients with similar values to us.
