On March 3, there was a SilverStripe meetup in London. This is their story, as told by Richard Johnson.
This month, we treated UK-based SilverStripe users to a slightly different agenda at our monthly SilverStripe UK meetup event (held in London) - giving them a sneak-peek of the forthcoming 3.0 release.
The event, which saw GPMD give an informative and engaging presentation, brought twenty SilverStripe users together, eagerly awaiting news on the latest release. Those who weren't able to attend the event could follow the main focal points of the evening via my live tweet updates.
We featured a number of screenshots to illustrate new and updated capabilities of version 3.0, providing an insight into the benefits that they will offer to users.
GPMD, an official partner of SilverStripe, organise monthly meetup events to provide users of all levels with guidance and support on using SilverStripe.
I personally really enjoyed this event, and the presentation (which lasted for around 45 minutes) was compelling and interesting for everyone in the room. Here's what two of my colleagues had to say:
- Mark Slocock - Managing Director of GPMD (UK SilverStripe Partner): We were delighted with the response from the audience, with almost everyone staying behind to ask Jamie questions and provide feedback on his presentation. Obviously we are looking forward to the release of SilverStripe version 3.0, but it's great to see such anticipation and support from other users.
- Jamie Neil - Technical Director at GPMD (UK SilverStripe Partner): It was great to see so many SilverStripe users asking questions and giving their opinions, you could see that they were really intrigued by the new features and capabilities of 3.0.
Here at GPMD, we are committed to building the brand and reputation of SilverStripe in the UK, holding regular meetup events and offering tutorials and training for new and existing users.
