Several new features have been released to our Platform-as-a-Service, SilverStripe Platform. This makes it easier for users to keep up-to-date with upgrades and maintenance, as well as manage stacks better.

Announcing ‘Announcements’

At times, even if you are a SilverStripe Platform user that receives updates via our regular emails, you may miss some important notifications on the latest and upcoming releases and maintenance schedules (well, let’s say you have too many emails to handle). Then when you happen to deploy during a scheduled maintenance window, you scratch your head, wondering why it fails.

Now you have one less thing to worry about!

We added a new ‘Announcements’ section on SilverStripe Platform dashboard. Once logged in, you can view all past/upcoming releases and maintenance.

The ‘Announcements’ section also shows cancelled tasks. This lets you know when a maintenance window is now no longer being used and you can deploy as usual.

Richer snapshot

Snapshots (bundles of content) in SilverStripe Platform, which are used to move content between environments, have just got richer. Now, not only can you include the database and your assets, resampled assets can also be included.

Better stack management

If you are on Stack Share, you will be happy to hear that the virtual stacks now are visible under their base stack. This gives you higher visibility for all of your stacks, making it easier to manage.

We’ve also fixed an edge case in the domains section. Previously, when www and SSL redirections were enabled for multiple domains, some deployments could fail – this is no longer the case.

These new releases are part of our ongoing improvements to SilverStripe Platform that we are very proud of. If you are interested in finding out how SilverStripe Platform can benefit you and your digital teams or just want to see a demo, please contact us!
