Every two months the SilverStripe Core Committers get together to publicly discuss issues relating to the open source project and review the current RFCs from the community. We recently joined the PHP-FIG with our representative, Chris Pitt who will be joining the live broadcast hangout sessions from time to time to update us on the latest news and items under discussions on which the SilverStripe open source project can put forward our vote on.
Also discussed in this hangout and worth checking out are:
-
We'd like to invite Jono Menz to join the core committers group (expect an email Jono!).
-
Adding the formal RFC process documentation into the official SilverStripe open source docs.
-
A new release process has been created to allow non-SilverStripe Ltd. core committers to be able to run (which will be handy as we start to make more frequent releases).
At the end of each session, we open up the channel for community Q&A, given the sessions are run early morning New Zealand time (evening UK time) if you have questions for future hangout sessions please send these through in advance to community@silverstripe.org (if you aren't able to make it along live!)
We are going to continue to run the public hangouts every 2 months, keep an eye out for the next one in November.
