All staff safe and client services at normal levels. Updates on the Nov 14 earthquake affect on SilverStripe Wellington.

Read post

Early on Monday morning, a 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck in the South Island of New Zealand, affecting several areas including Wellington. Thankfully, our Wellington team were all safe and unharmed.

Thank you to everyone in the wider SilverStripe community who have reached out to check we were OK and offer support. Your messages have been amazing!

Our office suffered minor damage and we will have some clean-up to do once the building has been given safety clearance by structural engineers. We are thankful this earthquake struck overnight, resulting in the lowest possible impact.

Wellington staff are currently working from home, as we repair our office and get back to normal.

We’ll post status updates below to keep you in the loop:

17 November 2016

We are back to business as usual. Most of our staff in Wellington are in the office today to enjoy a welcome-back morning tea. Some continue to work from home due to transport difficulties. Our client services are back to normal.

Service levels for SilverStripe Platform and Common Web Platform (CWP) clients have been maintained throughout the crisis. Our phone lines are operating as normal for urgent issues (contact details here).

A Disaster Recovery response team is in place and presently focuses on supporting New Zealand customers affected by the earthquake. Due to the emergency issues in Wellington and the South Island, our priority is assisting critical government agencies (Civil Defence, NZTA and local councils).

Wellington staff working from home are being supported by our Auckland and UK offices.
