As a child growing up with my parents I always had a garden pond with fish. Later in life I moved out and was fortunate enough to live by a large lake so didn't need to build a pond in my small garden
Several years back I moved to Essex with my wife and children, the house had a small well filtered pond with a couple of amazing koi. From there I caught the koi keeping bug and now a large well filtered koi pond with some lovely fish!
When starting out I often felt out of my depth when buying new equipment, as I didn't know the terminology and what things meant, I was often disregarded and had to learn alot for myself using books and the internet
This was much the same as when I came to choose my koi, I would only want to buy small koi to begin with but never got the same attention or importance as someone buying a large koi for hundreds of pounds, I was often not allowed to pick the colours and a swoop of the net was often the case, I didn't feel part of the inner circle of koi keepers
This was my inspiration to create a new business that catered for everyone from the beginner up to the expert, I have plenty of time to chat with customers and pass on my knowledge and advice, I make sure if you are choosing one small koi that you pick the exact fish you want and are happy with it, I give it the same importance as selling a larger fish. Here the hobby comes before the business. I do not expect everyone to know exactly what they are talking about, I try to make people feel easy about what they are asking me
