Leo Fabrizio is an artist who works with photography. With several hardcover solo publications, dozens of international exhibits and 10 years of work behind him, he needed a website to showcase his projects. His last website was built in 2004 and had not been updated since then. He had over ten years of photographic series awaiting to be published.
Our client had hundreds of high-resolution photographs to upload, and needed optimal quality on both mobile and desktop. However, he also had a specific need: some images appeared in several project page and he needed a link to appear between these pages. Silverstripe enabled us to build an algorithm which compares images on upload and automates this for our client instead of him spending countless hours linking them manually. Additionally, The landing page was designed to appear as a treemap visualisation hydrated with a random set of his photographs, so it had to load quick. Silverstripe enabled us to build our project from the start as it was designed, and to implement on-the-fly image compression and comparison. This results in an acclaimed website with fluid interactions and intuitive administration for our client.
