Project Hotspot is a Taranaki-based citizen science project driven by the Nga Motu Marine Reserve Society and funded by the Curious Minds initiative. The project runs through schools and is supported by scientists and community groups.
Project Hotspot needed to update their website to be inline with today's trends, and because the amount of people browsing websites on mobile devices increasing, we also needed to make it mobile responsive.
The purpose of the site is to educate the community of the rare species in the marine environment, and the dangers posed to them. We also needed to make it easy for people to report a sighting if a species was spotted.
We loved working with the Hotspot team, they were well prepared which made our job much easier, and they even brought us chocolate at the end of the build!
Part of the fun was seeing some of the cool photos of Penguins, Reef Herons, Orcas and Seals!
We hope we will get to work with them again in the future on more awesome projects!
