The French-Columbian Ãngrid Betancourt was kidnapped in 2002 by the Colombian guerrilla group FARC. The 46 year old campaigned for Colombian security and democracy as presidential candidate. She fought against corruption, drug-dealing and terrorism. She is cut off from her children, partner and close family. She stands as a symbol for thousands of "co-kidnapped" hostages. There is nothing further she can do for Colombia. On 23 February 2008 she "celebrates" her 7th year as a hostage in the jungle. This should not happen!
